The small ethnic group of Tuva called Dukha, Reindeer, or Tsaatan tribe still continue their nomadic life, moving from one camping place to the other several times during the year.
Reindeer tribes move to their summer camp at the beginning of June at the altitude of 2100-2300 m, there are places with fewer flies and fresh grasslands for their reindeer.
Reindeer cannot handle heat well, so the Tribe must pasture in high plains in the summer. Thus the tribes usually stay until the beginning of August and move to their autumn camps.
To visit the Dukha Reindeer herders at their summer camp takes the longest horseback riding journey of around 6-9 hours.
