The Aryapal Meditation Monastery was established in the beautiful granite rocky mountain area of Terelj National Park in the late 19th century. You can easily reach Terelj National Park with a 1-2 hour drive east of Ulaanbaatar city. You can visit this monastery at an end of a valley with the view of the beautiful granite rocky mountainous area of the park.

Lamas used to come here at certain periods of the year for purposes such as their creative work and meditation. However, the communist purge in Mongolia destroyed the Aryapal Meditation temple. Later in the late 90s, it was renovated and now is open to the public all year round.

When you go up by the monastery’s stairs, you get to have a stunning view of the area. For each season, the valley of this monastery has individual beautiful views and charm. During spring and summer, many colorful flowers fill the valley. During autumn bright yellow and orange colors are abundant. While, during wintertime, sparkling snow blankets cover the whole area.

Moreover, you can also enjoy several activities available in the area. For instance, walking and hiking in the stunning views or going horse riding on Mongolian small stature horses.
