Altai Tavan Bogd National Park:
Altai Tavan Bogd National Park is one of the must-see destinations for when you visit Mongolia. It is also known as the Five Saints, referring to the five peaks of the Altai Mountains in its territory. Namely Kuiten Uul, the highest of Mongolia’s mountain peaks at 4,374 meters, Nairamdal, Ulgii, Burged, and Malchin peaks.

The Tavan Bogd National Park covers 6362 square km and is located in the western corner of the country. There are more than 5 glaciers in the area. However, they are shrinking bit by bit over the years.

This protected area is home to various rare species of wildlife. For instance, the mountain sheep Argali, Ibex, red deer moose, snow cock, and many more.
The territory of the national park is also rich with many historical remains that are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Petroglyphs from 2500-3000 years ago, deer stones with unique depictions, and Turcic monuments to mention a few.
Moreover, several hundreds of Mongolian Eagle Hunters live in the region of the Tavan Bogd National park and Bayan-Ulgii, the Westernmost province of the 21 provinces of Mongolia.
