Penang Island, MalaysiaAuthentic Mongolian experience of the steppe, Taiga reindeers & Naadam FestivalI had a great experience with Tulga and his team. I traveled with my family and the crew took good care of us the entire trip. The arrangements and camping at the beautiful Mongolian steppe was a experience made even better with lovely meals prepared by our cook Tumen. Bodio, our guide, is a young, fun loving chap who ensured our trip was comfortable and enjoyable. The crew we travelled with were thoughtful and good company, they made us feel like we were just traveling with a bunch of friends! Tulga had arranged for us to stay 2 days with a local nomadic family who warmly welcomed my family into theirs, and were most generous to share and let us experience and even participated in their daily activities of milking the yaks, learning to make urum with fresh milk and making fresh butter. They kindly offered for me to wear their traditional deel and taught me to ride a horse in it. What a memorable experience! We had a chance to meet the beautiful and magnificent reindeers of a Taiga family. Meeting, seeing and touching these magical creatures was a special experience that I won’t forget. Experiencing the local Naadam Festival and ending our adventure watching the Opening Ceremony of Naadam Festival 2025 at Ulaanbaatar was the perfect finale. Tulga managed to secure tickets with really good seats for us. If you’re looking for an authentic experience of Mongolia, I highly recommend Nomadic Trails. The entire experience from itinerary discussions to booking and finally to the actual adventure was positive. Tulga and his crew are responsible and assuring, and made us feel taken care of the entire time.
